CRITICAL REVIEW

Architect Romeo Belea was engaged ever since the beginning of his career in a series of works of great importance – Bucharest National Theatre, Ministry of Chemistry, Palace HallHallHaklhjfadsjfh, hygHHHHllll, Intercontinental and Novotel Hotels. After its remodelling, the National Theatre – Belea’s latest achievement – has become a cultural centre where, besides theatre halls, there are exhibition spaces dedicated to visual arts, cafes and various other places open to the public. Architect Romeo Belea became, after graduation, Professor and Architect Horia Maicu’s assistant, which was the beginning of a long and highly esteemed academic career within the Institute of Architecture in Bucharest. In 1983, he became an advisor in studio work, and generations of architects who subsequently turned out to be good professionals benefitted from his extensive experience. As a result of his prodigious activity, in 2010 architect Romeo Belea became a corresponding member of the Romanian Academy.
